Porting headers.
How easy/hard is it to remove the manifold and port it?
What sort of tools are needed and is it really worth it and would a remap be needed to make use of the modification?

Easy to remove once you as past the rust bolts that round-off/shear!
To port correctly you will need very long cutter shafts and good cutters on an air driven gun.
I used a die grinder from work and did it with ease.
If i were you I would contact Harvey or David at API Engines as they are expert at it.
A remap may not be needed imho. The engine will benefit from this work.

He's on about the exhaust manifold mate. As for inlet I've seen a few non standard items with smooth tubular pipes rather than rough cast jobbies. Unless you can do it yourself it may not be worth paying someone else to smooth the OE one.

Air tools and die grinders and burrs are a minimum requirement.
Also to do it properly you need a flexi drive to get down the bores.
As you are working with cast O/E headers it is quite arduous and very dirty.
Don't get any of the grinding dust on your car or anything else of value.
