Default Blown TD04, what upgrade??

Hi all, Seem to have blown the standard turbo on my99 uk turbo. I say blown because shed loads of bluey white smoke belches out of the exhaust, a gentle drip of oil from the turbo area and smoke backing up through the induction cone.
What i'd like info on if possible is what turbos will bolt on as a direct replacement without changing injectors/intercooler or internals?
Currently i run (or ran) 258 bhp which included blitz system & d/pipe, filter, walbro, fcd, greddy controller at 1.1.
Any,any help appeciated!!!
Thanks,
Andy.

Take your pick really but you'll most likely need a remap if you use a different than standard one due to different flow/boost characteristics of different turbos.

Depends how much you want to make out of it. Once you have a power target then you know what will work most efficiently at the power level you want. If you're happy as it is just get another TD04. If you want around 300bhp a lot of people use a TD04 hybrid as supplied by Andy F. In the 300 to 350bhp bracket there are a fair few cheapish turbos that can do the job, a TD05-16G (front entry converted) and a VF35 off a newage STi are two that spring to mind (I've had both).

As above, refurb yours and go TD04-Hybrid. Remap and away you go
With hindsight (ha, i love that saying!) this is the route i would have gone had i not had 'stars' in my eyes and gone stupid with my money. lol.
I would have gotten a better result i think for literally thousands less!

Thanks for the info everyone,
Thinking about it, i'm going to get the TD04 hybrid. Seems to have the best of both world i.e. no lag and better than standard TD04 ability to hold boost.
Where is the best place to pick one up from and what remap will i need on my99 uk? Is it an ecutek?
Thanks
Andy
