Opinions Please on AFP5-20G on EJ20
I'm just in the process of buying a AFP05-20G, I'm thinking ahead and bought it for my 2.5 conversion but my question is, should I fit it to my STi V7 Type UK in the mean time??
The has the std VF35 fitted and has a decat 3" exhaust & a high flow air filter. Will the turbo be laggy as hell? Has some got the same set up that can tell what boost pressures they get at what revs?
If a 20g will blow 0.5bar at under 3000rpm on a 2.0l that would be good but have no idea what to expect with the 20G fitted to the 2.0litre STi engine.
The car is a day to day driver with 80% of its life getting driven by the Mrs.
My VF35 blows 1.5bar at just over 3000rpm which I think is perticulaly good for these cars as Mr Forrest commented on how well the engine flowed air, making me think the 20g might spin up quite well for some reason.
Would headers, up-pipe and what ever help??
Then again, I should maybe just shelve it and wait till the 2.5 is affordable.
Cheers for any advise,
Regards,

OK, I've been doing some digging and found a torque/power graph of HENRIK's car running a 20g. His graph is almost identical to my VF35 for torque & power (pre AFP Map) apart from the 20G just keeps on climbing up & up
Would the 20G respond better on the later STi with AVCS? (When its working ) over the WRX heads?
Anybody recommend a header & up-pipe for the AFP5-20G set-up

After pestering Andy F for some information, he must have got sick of all the emails and given up
Thanks mate
To me it looks like the AFP5-20G turbo works well with the newage STi's showing decent spool early enough to give decent torque low down, not as much as the VF35 but its a nats bollock off which I dont think will make much difference.
Andy, I hope you dont mind me posting them for others to see as it shows very well the differance between the VF35 & the AFP5-20G.
Both runs were newage STi's, origanal TMIC, Decat and an APS CAI, thats it.
I guess it looks like the 20G will be fitted to the 2.0litre then
Thanks mate
