Just fitted my induction kit, a few questions
1. previous cars I put induction kits on were cars like my old mr2, celica, corsa sri (ha), bmw 325 etc and they all gave the cars a loud 'roar' which I was kind of expecting from this kit, however the only difference in noise seems to the sound of it sucking the entire world up thru it! And it sounds like I have one of them crappy chav dump valves when ever I let off the gas. So Im quite disappointed with the sound.
2. How careful do I need to be driving it before I get it remapped? Zero boost? Or should it be ok?
3. The tube that now replaces the resonator box has a pipe off it that connects to the three stage boost solenoid (I hope I got that right); however my boost solenoid thingy had no pipes coming off it. I rang the guy who has done all previous work on the car and he said he disconnected the pipes because I dont use them anymore? So he told me to just blank off the pipe coming from my new induction kit tube. Is this ok? He says its fine?
4. How the hell do I go about making a heat shield?

should be fine to blank it off but if your using the original solenoid then you should have kept the bottom intake pipe it has a restictor in it.
And yes with an induction kit for some reason the sound of the dump valve is turned right up.
and i dont know what you mean by "How careful do I need to be driving it before I get it remapped? Zero boost? Or should it be ok?"

What I mean is, it obviously needs remaped since I have fitted the induction kit. Im getting it maped by andy f on tuesday. What Im asking is how unsafe is the car to drive (engine wise)? Is it a case of dont drive it unless I really have to. Or is it a case of its safe to drive but only off boost. Or is it a case of its totally fine to drive just like it was before I fitted the IK

no your car has a self learning ecu, only problem is it takes a while to learn. the quick way to do it is to do an ecu reset.
to do this connect the two green and the two black connectors under the steering column and turn ignition on. put accelerator on full throttle for a few seconds then return to half throttle.
turn engine on and drive car for a few minutes keeping above 11kph.
the check engine light will flash every half second (any other sequence is a fault showing on the system) turn off the car, disconnect the connectors and job done.
This should help the ecu learn quicker as it'll have only new info to learn from, its also a good idea to have your car filled with high octane fuel and take it for a blast uphill on high boost at this point

The diagram may need modifying for your specific car and how you want it but it gives you a starting point.

Nah its easy, problem is its no where anything close to fitting lol. I trimmed the carboard template down, alot, made it outta aluminium and now I have a heat shield! Very quick, rough, ugly, temp job untill I get the time to make a decent one, but it should do for getting it maped at least.
Would post photos but digicam nackered and cant put mobie fone pics on pc (lost the lead)
