newage springs i thing are different 2001-2002 spring have different tops mounts at the front to 2003-2005 cars, rears are the same.
The newer ones will fit your car but obviously you need the top mounts, I put 2003 sti prodrive (red) springs on a 2002 wrx and kept standard wrx struts and it was fine. But if you buy new springs to suit a wrx from a dealer they will be blue.I would think classic springs would be softer as newage cars are heavier
