Where is the Temp control sensor on a 2005 STi

Where is the Temp control sensor on a 2005 STi
as i dont think i plugged it back in after i took the alternator and i/c off to fit my defis.The fans are on at startup and the CEL is on permanently and the water temp doesnt register

as i thought cheers Johnny 
i do remember disconnecting the crank sensor and the other one that sits directly behind the oil pressure sensor but i obviously didnt push the temp sensor all the way home
