Can anyone recommend a decent set of brake pads and discs to get ? Still have standard 4 pots on 04 WRX.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I've got late classic 294mm 4-pots and have done very well with DBA Slotted discs (from AS Performance) and super-cheap OMP Road & Track pads that were £30 off ebay. This setup along with DOT5.1 fluid and braided Goodridge hoses has done the job. The brakes are tireless and seemingly indestructible, whether on the road or on track. I've done recently plenty of fast laps of Cadwell Park and the brakes were totally untroubled and consistent after 8 laps at a time. It's a ~320bhp wagon running 1.4 bar on a TD05 and all supporting mods.

I know lots of threads advocate spending a fortune on pads and I was all ready to thrash my OMPs on track and then throw them away and put in some Pagids, but the fact is they are fine, they work just the same on the road as they always did and I now know that they will take some serious punishment as well.

The only thing I'd improve on them is the initial bite which isn't that great. You just get used to using a lot of pedal and there is bite there, you just have to dig in to find it.
