Default Exhaust leak

After fitting the new centre section I am having trouble getting it to seal properly.

Where it joins the back box, I have no issue. The problem is where the centre sections joints onto the front part of the exhaust (think the Cat is there too?).

It looks like a ring of wire wool used as the gasget. I can only get it to seal with some sealant and tightning it up fully. I thought this section had to be a little loose (hence the prings on the bolts) to compensate for engine movement etc?

Any ideas would be good

The bolts should be done up until they hit their stops (thats what the stops are there for!), then, and only then, will the spring be at the right compression for it to seal.

the problem being even when the stops are tight enough it still leaks. Got round it by using normal bolts and doing them up tight with sealant.
