would putting a STI intercooler into a wrx make any noticable difference ? would it be a straight bolt in without any modifications, i noticed there is another mounting point to the left of the wrx intercooler where it looks like a longer version would bolt in.
also would the car need remapped for the STI intercooler and how much would a remap cost.

also looking at getting a decatted downpipe would this do anything power wise or just louder nise

sorry about this not long got a wrx blobeye with ppp and getting started with the mods.

thanx for any info

STi intercooler swap is a great move, it is a straight swap and withe the cast pipe would be far more efficient than your present set-up, a remap shouldn't be required with just this change.
A decatted downpipe will remove the restriction that is the closed wastegate path on the turbine's exit and restrictive downpipe cat in the standard downpipe, a sports cat would be my suggestion although it is a little more expensive that a decatted downpipe.
