Default Difficulty engaging 4th gear

Hello,
I have a 2007 WRX and sometimes I cannot shift from 3rd to 4th gear, I have to put it back to neutral and try again in order to succeed.
The car has 5k miles and this has happened around 4 times now. I don't even change fast when it happens.
I phoned the dealer in order to check it and they told me it is normal in this car!
Even if it's happened in other WRX's what does it mean "normal"?!
I have a 205 gti with 138k miles on the clock and never had this problem.
I would expect subaru to take this matter more seriously!
Anyway I insisted and they booked me in to check it.
Has this problem happened to anyone else?
Thanks,

Sounds like syncro problem maybe...does the gears crunch when you can select?

I've got that on my UK 6 speed but thats down to worn gearbox mounts and monster torque twisting the box out of alignment slightly.

There are a few top gearbox experts on this site but you've got the thread in the wrong topic.

Can a moderator move this under the "Drivetrain" section please?

There is no crunching in any gear at all.
The car has only got 6k miles so it is surprising if something was worn.
It is only stiff going into 4th gear sometimes but it will go in if I push it or go back to neutral and try again.
