boost maps
ok, i have a uk 95. thanks to esl, i have the car set to 1.1 bar
know i've just got a front mount, & needed/wanted to raise the boost a little more. esl has also informed me of a boost map/map sencer that will enable the car to be increased to upto 1.4 bar.
what i'm needing to find out is. whats the cheapest or best way to get this. with eather a newer version. or after market type
anyone

to run more then 1.1bar on a pre96 you need to replace the map sensor with one from a later car.
your current map sensor runs out of headroom just above 1.1bar so it cannot control boost or the safety fuel cut at any levels above this.
the later map sensor from a 97> car will allow you to run more. these can be had 2nd hand from a subaru breakers for about £40.
connect this up in place of the standard unit then get the ecu remapped to suite.
due to the different scaling of the new map sensor it will require a remap or else the ecu will not be able to control the boost even at your current 1.1bar settings.
you also need to consider upgrading the injectors to 440's, 550's or fitting an uprated pump and regulator and use the 380's.
you should then be able to get it mapped to 1.35bar quite nicley on the TD05.
Although I don't think ESL will support this level of modification on the old ESL daughterboard, as it's quite a bespoke map setup.
Best get this done live with the ESL live map board ESL Live Spec

Probably being mapped at PTS then.
Speak to them, they may have the required sensor.
If not buy one and take it along on the day, only takes 10 mins to swap over and wire in.
Have a word with Saj at Jap performance Parts as he may have the required sensor.
