Default forged pistons

been offered a good deal on a set of wiseco pistons and steel rods only prob they are only 92mm so doesnt go well if bores are needing honed etc is it worth it or am i better with .5 over and paying the full price?

Do you need a rebore then? if not then you may be ok, best thing about a rebore is that you know the bores have been machined to the pistons that you have got with the correct clearance, if you get the bores measured first you might find out that you only need a hone for the new pistons to get the requisite clearance

Also, be aware that the Wiseco shelf stock piston K588M92/ 925 pistons will either be very high compression if used with the normal '99 > .6mm head gasket, or very poor squish (piston to head clearance) if used with the thicker STi3/4 gasket.

Under no circumstances use them without a re-map.

see technical terms like that scare the s**t outta me was gonna get ecutek remap but engines getting noisy so dont think a remap and more power will do it any good hence the new pistons etc,its a 99 sti 5 and is still built so not sure of the bore condition etc
