APS CAI

Hi, I have just got an Aps Cai for my 99 V5 Type R, on the instructions it says I need to drill a 21mm hole for the air temp sensor, Do I need to do this or can I mount it in another place?

i just used a cable tie and strapted it to the body of the cai in the inner wing
