Default PAS pump leak

Hi my PAS pump is leaking, is it likely to be a washer/gasket replacing? Can i do it myself? The car is a '96 import, i was told by a local garage that there is no washer but a piston which can't be replaced ie. the whole bottle or pump needs replacing, is this true?

My PAS pump leaked like made on my 1995 WRX. I thought it was a front crank oil seal that had gone until a garage told me. They changed the gasket in no time at all. Problem fixed. Try taking it elsewhere for another opinion!
