Default ECU Reset

Planning to reset the ECU tonight to check/clear error codes and CEL with obd2 software (01 wrx)
Just wondering after it's been done, does it matter how you drive the car afterwards whilst presumably it re-learns.
Cheers

01WRX takes a little while to learn as it starts with the Advance Multiplier set to 8 (of 16).
As it relarns this will creep up to 16.

You can speed this process up though :
Put the car into 3rd gear bring the revs up to 2600rpm.
Push the accelerator pedal down slightly so boost stays around 2–4psi (~0.2 bar).
You will need to MAINTAIN 2500rpm and 2–5psi for approx 5 seconds.
You can do this by left-foot braking gently as to prevent acceleration.
During these few seconds, the advance multiplier will creep upto 16.

Thanks for that.
Didn't have much success though reading the ecu.
plugged the cable in - two green lights appeared on the box thing that plugs into the car - all looked good

Tried various bits of software - ecu explorer, scantool , obdII-scanmaster but wouldn't read the ecu.
scantool gave the following message - obdII is shorted to vbatt or ground

Do you know what this means ?
Cheers
Matt

No joy - getting the following from ECU Explorer -
13:17:40.078 - to ECU : QueryECUType
13:17:41.328 - Response Timeout - QueryECUType
13:17:41.328 - QueryECUType failed with 4103 [0x1007]
13:17:41.343 - --> 80 10 F0 01 BF 40

See the connection I think - down on the bottom I can see COM4 SSM diagnostics.
Any ideas ?

What lead have you got?

The Tactrix cables are the best for this job.
