on my way to work to day driving nice and steady (only had this car 2 1/2 days) AND my rad has a massive leak dont really know how long i was driving for with it leaking , and didnt notice the temp till i basiclly arived at work (i was still half a sleep) ,but temp last night was normal (runing half wayish) my journey to work is prob about 9 miles max !!!!!!! iv bought new rad and now going to fit it tomorrow what should i check when fitting it and after fitting it , I HOPE THERE IS NO DAMAGE THE ENGINE OR TURBO fingers crossed other wise it will be garaged for months and i mean months , any help would be great

i would simply suggest, that after fitting ,when uve filled the rad up with your water etc,..just check for any obvious leaks, start the engine and let it tick over for 3-4 mins and check again for any leaks,..keep an eye on the temp gauge, if every thing seems ok, take it round the block and again keep an eye on the temp,..dont go too far from home,.....if everythings ok and the temp is sitting where it normally would then you shouldnt have any probs. cheerz..

Mine went a few weeks ago luckily spotted it and got it replaced a couple of days later just made sure i had plenty of water and didn't drive on boost (which was extremely hard)but unless you've been driving it hard there shouldn't be any damage.

does any one know weather the impreza 2l turbo (UK) rad is the same as the wrx (93) import rad ?
