Classic, Dash conversion and turbo ...
Hi Guys, Girls and those who cant decide LOL
After the sale of my much loved 2004 wrx, due to financial reasons i have bought outright a N reg Waggon. A jap import i have a few questions that i hope some one can help with... im new to thsi old classic stuff.
1) The car has a side entry turbo. Its a imported WRX so i need to know what turbo i can upgrade to to get good power from the car 330/350 would be good. what do i go for???
2) The car has the earlyer dash in. i have bought a FULL dash from a 2000 classic with the cente console etc etc. has any one fitted this to a earlyer car as the fan controls look different...
3) What Splitter can i get for the front i really want a P1 but will this fit a N reg ( preface lift)
Help greatly appreciated

For the power you want a top entry TD-05 with supporting mods, I think the wagon had a TD-04 but not to sure, I'm sure someone will be along to advise you better.
For the styling see here P1 Style Front Lip Spoiler
For the interior...beats me

Dash conversion.
You will need both servo's for the centre heater matrix unit housing as well as the blower motor unit/aircon? The servos look the same but they use different pin outs.
The later dash loom.
The later hand brake lever.
The later speedo cluster & speed sensor, then a electronic speedo convertor (jap models)
All of the above needs wiring.
I would guess using a jap speedo & uk gearbox would cause speedo reading to be inaccurate going by a few problems threads on here.
I used 98sti speedo on a jap gearbox without any problems.
The cross bar which is behind the dash is also different between earlier & facelift models. So the dash will be short of a few fixing point depends which bar you decide to use. Plus the steering column bolting holes will be offline.
Modify or use the later column.
There are other fixing & bolting brackets on the inner bulkhead & gearbox centre tunnel which are different from both earlier & facelift models. So you need to diy some up.
Its not that straight forward but still possible.
Ticky
