Unhappy Crank with 48mm bearings

Hello guys!
I would need your help!
I have got a EJ22T engine and had to see that it was built with shorter rods and 48mm bearings.
There is a 2.5l crank built in, but I need to make a 75mm stroke instead of the existing 79mm hub!
Does anyone know which crank I can use in this block with the 48mm bearings?
Or maybe someone even has got a crank for my needs?
So I think what I need is a 75mm phase I crank with 48mm bearingsdimension!

Let me know any help you can offer, please!

There isn't a 75mm stroke crank with 48mm big end journals.

Thanks for the fast reply!

The old Legacys had them I think, isnīt that right?

Are there any shorter rods (127mm) with 52mm bearings?

Why do you need shorter rods, if you're going from a 79mm crank, to a 75mm crank, you need longer rods, if you're using the same pistons.

The only engine I'm aware of using 48mm BE journals is the early 2.5lt normally aspirated engine.

You really seem to be going around in circles, and I think it would be worth taking a step back, and working out just what the issues are.

I still don't understand why you don't just use the original pistons, rods, and crank you have, to make it 2.35lt ?

IIRC, you were worried about high compression, but was it actually causing a problem ?

Mark.

Hi Mark,
my mechanic built
a 2.5l engine and had too high compression, afterwards they had to go back to 8.2:1 and that is fine now.
My engine would be about 9.0:1, thatīs not what I want and absolutly wrong for high boosts, I want to run with my turbo...

So you think the early Legacy 2.2l non turbos do not have the 48mm bearings?
Or maybe the early 2.0l non turbo Imprezas?

The rods are 127mm instead of stock 130mm length!
I want to change the crank to 75mm to come down with compression and now it is impossible through the short rods!

As if I use the stock length rods I have a higher compression as well!

Now itīs done, the engine works perfect for the moment and I made the first miles breaking the engine in!
First impression is, it has power from low down I never felt before!

Can make turns with the 4th gear (of my 6 speeder) and pulling strong out form 1300 rpm up, really great and thatīs without any tuning or mapping, just stock injectors and Ecu only making stock boostlevels, as my Apexi is turned off for now!
Looking forward to see what power it can make after the Power FC is mapped and the 740s are in.
Does anyone think I can go with 550s as well?
Many thanks for your opinion!

Do you think 550s will be enough to feed the EJ22/SR40 combination?
