New Subaru Driver (Difference between Turbo 2000 and WRX)
Hey Guys,
I was just wondering if anyone here knew the difference (components wise) between the turbo 2000 (uk version) and the 276 bhp WRX, A mate of mine told me it was just mapping..... if that is the case could a put an WRX ECU to replace my S8 ecu? and of course a couple of hours on a rolling road? Please Help someone! I'm really want to hit bigger BHP

Unfortunately you will have to change the ecu (as neither the UK or Jap versions of that year are remappable).
Best bet is to go for a remappable ecu rather then messing about with the wrx one imo

Remappable ecus aren't cheap but are extremely flexible in what they can do.
there are loads of ecus out there favourites with imprezas seem to be the Apexi Power Fc.

A WRX will also be mapped for 100 ron fuel so doesnt really help. You would also need the yellow 440cc injectors if yours has 380cc greys. The turbo will be larger than your TD04 and the IC is different as is the MAF.
The ECU also has a minor wiring difference.
I went for a Power FC mapped by Andy F for my 98 WRX.
