ive been out in the car tonight coverd 10 miles, stoping every few to check pipes. its ok now but im quite conserned!

it could be the water pump or the thermostat, thermostat is easier to change but it could also be the pipe itself, if it's old it could loose it's strength, in which case i'd change them all tbh just in case another one goes the same way? might be an excuse to put some nice samco on it?

ive only just fit new silicone hoses 2 months ago. theyre not samco (autobahn88) but felt quite stiff.

i think its the thermo sticking shut? it sounds logical.

it could be mate, easy to fix as well if it is, you could do that first and then see what happens, they dont cost much and it won't take long to fit

it's going flat because as it cools it can't suck water back in so it starts to collapse the weakest hoses first the first place i would be looking would be the rad cap.

If the thermostat was stuck, it would overheat. I would say it was the rad cap not allowing air back in.
