Running engine with TMIC removed??
Would this damage the engine in any way? A mate of mine with a 1998 Uk Turbo had the TMIC off the other night, obviously along with the attached hoses and dump valve, and started the car up to try and get it up a ramp. But he reckoned it wouldn't rev cleanly without them attached and you could hear like a sucking sound when he was trying to rev it. So he shat himself a bit and turned it off. He is now worried it may have messed something up internally, could it have??

I've had mine running like that a few times.. obviously running like that the air flow isnt being metered correctly but theres no boost wont really do any harm but it will run like a dog and overfuel like hell as the ECU will assume the MAF is faulty and use a base map which is clearly wrong with no boost

I'm amazed he got it to run at all! When my boost pipes came apart the car ran mega rich and cut out pretty much straight away.
