Hello I have a MY94 Impreza Turbo its got a polar performance chip, straight through centre decat and magnex oval backbox which i got because they give the rumble but not too loud. Since fitting the backbox it is very loud and the exhaust pops like mad when i lift off the throttle is this normal??? I have checked the exhaust for leaks and it seems fine.

 

My old modded 95 wrx which had a straight through decat system, induction and ARC blow off valve used to pop and bang on a trailing throttle and also shoot the odd flame out of the back box...never did mine any harm!!!

 

I thought they did this due to slight overfuelling??

 

my my00 pops and bangs but that is due to having the pops and bangs programed in when i had it mapped ..... never done my car any harm .. sounds cool ... mine has full decat , afterburner back box and a lot of other mods

gonna miss it though sold it thursday night and its being picked up this wednesday

 

How loud are these pops and bangs then? Getting mine mapped in a few weeks

 

very loud indeed ... makes peoples heads turn ... some of the loud pops and bangs sound like a shot gun ... some sound like back fires ... some are continuous little pops ...

all in all sound cool ...

if you want it to stay remember to ask your mapper to add it into the map though ..
