What is roughly the range of the exhaust gas temp.
ie 3-500 deg

In the uppipe mate you see anything from 250 deg c at idle on start up to 900dec c at WOT full load

isnt 900deg piston melting?
i would have thought 650deg max befor getting problems?

No mate, the EGTs are up in the 900's at full load WOT.

Much more than that and it starts to get a little hot. But 850+ ids by no means uncommon. Race cars may run up to 1000 deg c and above.

just got some exhaust wrap and a 1000 deg melted it! lol
might not fit it..
