hi everyone, just bought an 05 Forester 2.0xt, looking for easy power, where do i start! I think it is the 175bhp model, totally standard at present.
Obviously some sort of chip fettling is in order, i'm not after 300bhp (yet!) but would like to 'release some potential'
Its my first ever turboed car so be gentle...

Dont know much about the Forester engines but guess they will allow use of a dawes device - suggest you fit with a boost gauge and a knock sensor, plus find out what the max boost level with standard setup should be...

You'll prob have a fuel cut setup but these are all worth checking first before you start messing.

Get yourself over to Europe - Subaru Forester Owners Forum for the best Forester advice, your car has 177bhp, a PPP is available to take it to about 215bhp with some simple tweaks (inlcuding the remap), in the short term the fuelling/ignition seems OK to about 0.8bar boost (where the overboost fuel cut stops fun) using a bleed valve/dawes device, that will add about 20bhp for you, and you can also add a better exhaust, panel filter etc as per the Impreza (although the Forester back box is unique most other Impreza parts will fit!)
