MY05 STi +PPP with Bob Rawle Remap
I had my car remapped by Bob Rawle today and very happy with the results. It now pulls better in all gears, is loads of fun on full throttle and PPP exhaust even sounds better.
It's a MY05 STi Type UK with PPP fitted, the STi uprated panel filter, a set of NGK PFR7b’s spark plugs and a three port boost solenoid.

MY05 STi Type UK
Very interesting reading this.
In my experience a PPP MY05 STi Type UK makes 235-240bhp and 235-240ftlbs torque AT THE WHEELS using Delta Dash's Road dyno, and typically the STi with this much power will produce the following acceleration figures:-
40 - 60mph = 3.1 seconds
50 - 70mph = 3.0 seconds
60 - 80mph = 3.2 seconds
70 - 90mph = 3.5 seconds
80 - 100mph = 4.4 seconds
The same car then remapped by Mocom Racing, along with an uprated panel filter, 1 step colder spark plugs but retaining the factory 2port boost solenoid, produces 270bhp and 277ftlbs again AT THE WHEELS using the same DeltaDash Road dyno function under the same conditions on the same stretch of road.
Now what's interesting is the acceleration figures with this much power:-
40 - 60mph = 2.9 seconds
50 - 70mph = 2.6 seconds
60 - 80mph = 2.7 seconds
70 - 90mph = 3.0 seconds
80 - 100mph = 3.6 seconds
Those acceleration figures match the figures stated in the original post at considerably less quoted flywheel power........
I suggested somewhere in the region of 310-320bhp and 315-325ftlbs on the aforementioned STi using a correction factor of around 16%
Why did I choose to apply 16%?
After a visit with the same STi test car to a number of rolling roads a couple of years ago, I decided to add around 16% to the wheel figures produced by DeltaDash - this would guarantee that the figures produced on the lowest reading rolling road would match the figures I quoted and all else could perhaps produce a little more The last thing I'd want is a customer coming back with an underperforming car
This is in no way taking anything away from Bob, he can only extract the power from the car that the sum of all parts can produce and this is something we, as are all mappers, restricted to - there's no magic formula if the mapper knows what they are doing.

I've been thinking about getting mine remapped, do you know how much Bob charges for a remap and does it differ from mapper to mapper?

Would the parts mentioned and a another remap make that much difference?
Can anyone supply a link to STi uprated panel filter, a set of NGK PFR7b’s spark plugs and a three port boost solenoid.

If you are already at 330bhp, perhaps you should look at making some additional mods before having a remap.

Spark plugs I got from Sparkplugs.co.uk or something like that (about £40). Bob supplied and fitted the three port solenoid (about £150) and STi uprated panel filter (about £70).

Then the ECU needs upgrading if it can't register the parameters quickly enough

The Subaru ECU is far better than aftermarket ECUs, the curves produced from the Road dyno function aren't smooth due to the sampling rate used in the software - stick the car on a dyno and the curve would be smooth with a nice wide powerband

Sorry to hijack the thread - quick question though:
I had my car remapped (ECUTEK) about a 15 months ago, if I take it to another mapper how would he know I had an ECUTEK license already? or would I have to take it back to the same place.....?)

You can take it to an Ecutek dealer of your choice , as they go to program it they will see that a licence is already in there.....

Bob is mint, he's mapped mine a few times now and each time he's helped with the odd issue (nothing to do with Bob's work, more to do with previous work done on the car/parts and bad mapping). He's given so much advice I can never thank him enough for it...
That Scooby "abuser"s map is interesting...wonder how my car will do faced with a motor that makes 100 bhp at 4000 revs... lol
A m8 of mine, JJ in Exeter, has a Cossie with approx 400 bhp and his pulls very well from 3500 with a big hybrid turbo - think someone needs more boost control?
I need to visit him again early next year to fit a motorsport fuel pump as my uprated pump just isnt upto the job, drops pressure from 5500. I expect bob will pick up a few more horses from my motor as he did with the warranty replaced actuator ("old" one cracked open at .7 bar, new one 1 bar - rated 1.2 bar). Harvey has also been helping with parts sourcing - tops!

Zak you need to quote weight and the gear used to put any credance to your figures as both will have a huge effect on sector times, 16% loss ... nope. I use 21.8 (22) % these days with an accurate weight, always the same stretch's of road for the power runs, that way my car by car database of figures is consistent and comparative. Rolling roads are a variable feast as we have all often debated and force = mass x accelleration is far more realistic.

Likewise Bob, I run all cars (providing they are mapped from my base in North Weald) on the same stretch of road under the same conditions, all 5speeds in 3rd and 6speeds in 4th. And like I said I choose to add 16% because it matched the lowest reading RR from my testing a couple of years back.
