Idle control Sensor
Ola people, been away a while but now I'm back :P
wonder if i could get some advice on this little problem.
had my car checked and the ECU report a couple of faults to most important being Crank shaft sensor and Idle control sensor
so got one sorted, the Crank shaft sensor, and was told the ICS was still an issue, never really effected the car, just sometimes the engine light would come on and i couldn't boost fully.
Anywho, picked one up the other day from local Scoob breakers, and reset ECU,
now the car seems to idle really low, i.e under 500RPM, and sometimes when i could to a junction and stop, feels like its going to stall.
so wondering if anyone knew what this might be?
p.s engine light not coming on now
Thanks alot

There is no such thing as an 'idle control sensor', idle speed control valve perhaps?
Its quite common for JDM cars to have a very low idle speed with AC on, gives good test cycle fuel economy and everyone in Japan has AC on all the time anyway!

The idle air control solenoid will not affect ability to boost. It will give you differing idle speeds (usually idling too high) and in extreme cases will give you a very high hunting idle.
To adjust your idle RPM, loosen the two screws on the side of the solenoid and rotate it till your idle speed increases - remember do this when the car is fully warmed up.
