attaching -6AN fittings
as the title really...I'm having an absolute nightmare with these bl00dy things
any help before i lose what little hair i have?!?

Yes they can be a pain.
Part of the trick is getting a good neat cut without any loose strands.
Put a few rotations of insulating tape around the place where you want to cut the hose very tightly, then using a brand new fine hacksaw blade (24 TPI is ok) cut through quickly and cleanly.
If you are having problems fitting the hose onto the male connector, you can chamfer the hose bore very carefully with a sharp stanley knife. Make sure you get any bits out of the hose before you fit it.

thanks Mark, i think i've discovered the main issue; i'm using non-braided hose...I didn't know it was a requirement for using the -6AN fittings
if i do need to use braided hose I may just try and buy some braid sleeve for the ends, but its frustrating because I wanted to get the car running today
