I am attempting to remove the gearbox from my 94 wrx ra, the gearbox has started to come of the engine there is a 15mm gap between the bell housing and the engine. But it now seems to be stuck and i cannot remove it from the engine. any ideas please?

 

Have you removed the clutch pivot fork?

 

have u seen the 2 lugs on either stde of the box coz i had the same prob when changing my cluch u just need to help it along an it shuld come off but watch it its a bit heavy

 

Thanks for the advise about the clutch pivot fork i have not removed this, could anyone tell me the easiest way to remove this?

 

down the nearside of the gearbox there is a big allen key type cap. unscrew that, screw a 10mm(10mm head) bolt into the shaft that is inside holding the fork in, then pull it and slide it out. job done the fork is then free
