After I checked my ECU, I saw is a B6 with 4 connectors, came in a MY96 Impreza GT (I guess similar to your UK Turbo).

I have opened it and saw it has an empty socket in it to install a chip.

I have decatted my car, and I wonder with chip is good for my car. I've been reading the forums, but found too many different kinds of ECUs. Or should I search for a different ECU, like Z4? (seems to be the preferred).

How about piggybags like Apexi AVCR or SAFC? Is better to get a chip than these? (at least it will be much cheaper).

My goal is to gain some power and not having it too lean after decat the car. I'm already using superunleaded fuel (98 octanes), but I don't want to be running on the edge and blow up the engine. What power should I be expecting?
