Default Injector help please.

HI,

Just fitted 550cc injectors to a 93WRX.
Have seen the thread about how to pressurise the system ect

When trying to turn it over after switching the ignition on and off a few times, it just keeps turning over and not firing up.

Is it likely to be the injectors are not set right with the power FC and need re-adjusting which is causing it to throw loads of fuel in and eventually end up with hydraulic lock?

Any help welcome.

An engine would normally run a little rich on start up anyway, so I doubt that's the problem. It will of course need recalibration in the Power FC to run those bigger injectors, but it should start up fine. My guess is that you've got a wiring or sensor problem i.e. you forgot to connect something up e.g. the crank or cam sensor, or the ignition coil plug etc. which would cause the failure to start.

After taking the coil packs and plugs back out and turning the engine over, it was spraying fuel out of the OSF.

So it seemed to end up being the spade connectors inside the connectors on top of one of the injectors not going into the slots properly, as they need bending slightly to accomodate the 550's.

Connected back up and it fired up and runs, allthough it is running rich so will have to see which settings to change on the commander.

Thanks for the reply, may have needed it if was unable to figure it out, and hopefully help someone in future.

Glad it's sorted. I think there may be a setting to just scale up to your new injectors all in one go, but I don't know how you'd access it. Certainly it will need a remapping to get it working properly.

Yeah, I'm hoping to get Andy F's to get it mapped again.

I have tried searching for info on changing any settings to help untill its mapped properly, but I can't find anything.
It drives ok off boost so I may be able to tweak the FPR to help.

the setting is INJECTOR under SETTINGS.. but I hope the remap is booked up and soon you shouldn't really be driving it about with different injectors and guessed fuelling etc..
