Default 03 STI 30,000 miles service

Yesterday I took my 03 sti for its 30,000 miles service at my local Subaru dealer and had a bill for £385!! There was no major fault with the car, it was just a standard service. In my opinion this sounds rather expensive. Just wondering what other people have paid for theirs?

Cheers?

Don't forget that includes gearbox and final drive oil change, plugs, air filter and maybe brake fluid (usually done at 2yrs/20k) That amount looks about right when you include the hourly rate!
Always use an independant Subaru specialist when possible, even for cars still in warrenty - cheaper and usually use better oils.

Sounds pretty expensive to me! I've just bought a 03 STi with 44K on it, before buying i thought i'd phone up the Subaru garage who had done the previous servicing to check that it had full history as stated in the book. I asked for a price for the 50K service as i knew the cambelt needs done then as well. They quoted £316+vat

What price did they quote when you booked in?

Litchfield quote £358.61 + VAT for the 30,000 service they do.

When I phoned up to book the service the guy on the other side said that he did not know how much it would cost. I thought that this was rather strange, but didn't really think much of it and booked it in anyway. I think I can see now why they don't tell people of the cost over the phone!

I contacted Subaru UK directly via e-mail on Monday to query the price. Typically I haven't had a reply to date. Me thinks I will have to contact over the phone and burn some ears!!
