hi i have a my 99uk turbo getting the car mapped soon. but i was thinking what is best price wise and performance wise and long term for later mods the power fc or the ecutek i do have a apexi acvr aswell .
I would say it depends on your long term goals. Personally if I had the choice between ecutek and powerfc (I currently have a power fc and avcr) I would go with the ecutek, I believe it can cope with over 400bhp and it has the advantage of knock control whereas the power fc doesnt so if you get bad fuel it should prevent the engine from detting to oblivion. Saying that though the powerfc is a nice bit of kit and is the best mod I have had done

i am getting the power fc but just wanted 2 hear some views on both sides my reason for going with the pw fc is cost ok dear to get but cheap if you get the car mapped after mods.
powerfc all the way!! u can monitor knock levels and whole load of other important info about whats going on under ur bonnet....choose ur mapper wisely though id highly reccomend paul from zen performance

Simon did my pfc map and happy with it....... reason i went the apexi route instead of ecutek was simply because i could easily return the car to standard by removing all the mods ive done, and refit the original ecu, then sell all the bits inc the pfc to recoup some money..... hard to do when the original ecu has been remapped when going ecutek..... performance wise i think they are pretty equal, although to add further mods when initially set up,the power fc is easier to do as it would need just slight tweaking, ecutek would need a complete new reflash to accomodate any changes.....

Personally, I'd stick with Ecutek unless you're planning some pretty extensive mods. It's been proven very capable up to and beyond 400bhp IIRC and retains all the std factory features.

Your mapper will keep a copy of the std map on your car and can revert it back to that if required.
