Default Defi experts - help needed re Oil Pressure sender

Just fitting a Defi oil pressure gauge. Have removed the old oil pressure bolt on which was there was a connection. However on the Defi sender to put back in there is nowhere for the wire to connect to. Is this okay. Do I just leave it in place or should I be re-connecting it elsewhere. Help much appreciated.
The one one bolt and wire.

Defi sender - but nowhere for the connecting wire.

Hope someone can help. Thanks. Gav

you don't have t reconnect it, it is just linked to the oil warning light on the dash...which now won't function
