Default New Green Panel Filter

Just bought a new Green cotton panel filter, anybody know if its good to go straight out of the box or if you need to apply small amount of oil to it?

Thanks in advance for your help!

good to go out of the box - cut the lugs off at the sides to make it fit the airbox better though

Many thanks, is it right that the car now makes what i can only describe as a faint dump valve noise when coming off throttle in boost?

Well impressed, can hear the turbo much more now too!

I would doubt whether you can hear a difference between panel filters but I cant remember to be honest as mine was done within 2 days of ownership

Nice noise isn't it, I have a Green Panel Filter in a newage WRX and it makes a good old sucking noise coming on and off turbo..

Bit of a fluttering noise when changing gear..... but i have no wing resonator that might heighten it a touch

Trust us, you can hear it. Fitted a Grennpanel filter to my MY07 WRX last night and noticed the induction noise straight away when I went for a drive this morning. Mine also makes a noise when coming off power - but it reminds me of gentle snoring. Less exciting then my old MY03 WRX PPP which whistled like a jet (even though it had completely standard airbox and filter).

As rigga says, remove the intake resonator and ram-air scoop to get some good noises and slightly lower intake temps. Seal off the holes in the wing and around the hole into the filter housing and open up some airflow into the wing by drilling out the false vents around the foglights or cutting a flap in the underlining. This is how I had mine and the standard recirc DV was perfectly audible, although about half as much as a VTA. Got a really good whistle as the turbo spooled up.
