Default R180 rear diff is great with big power...

I cant understand why my R180 rear diff is so sweet with my 6 speed box...both suretrac...power is ment to be 50/50 split but its easy to get the back kicking out just like you want it to on corners or roundabouts...
Really have no complaints with the setup at all...its so much fun to be going sideways all the way around a roundabout all wheels spin like.

Anyone else have the same? When running normal or 60-70% attack she works fine (apart from 5th gear crunch sometimes) for 3rd but not when 100% and the box is warm.

Also think I've got a gearbox mounting issue as I'm finding it hard to select third sometimes...just cant find the slot. Its done it few times before since running over the 450bhp mark - Bob has same issue and said his engine mounts are worn but I know mine are okay as I had brand new sti8 jobs fitted with engine build, its just the big gearbox mount that older than the rest, even the rear diff is all poly jobs uprated.

I'm replacing my engine and g-box mounts with Sti Grp N stuff, std Sti8 mount isn't enough imho.

cheers

The stiffer 'filled' gearbox mounts really steady the gear lever over stock, and it is very well worth the mod./trouble

Had mine (and engine mounts) from Lateral.

Rats, didn't want engine mounts to be done again - that's engine out again stuff? I'm "happy" to do the gearbox mounts as I know the box needs work done with synchros worn....

no need to remove engine.. lift it a little but you can access them with engine still in.

Excellent, glad no engine out etc as dont fancy routing all my pipes and wires again - a job for next years scooby project...I'll need the box out anyway to sort the synch's as they're worn...UK 6 speed box problem as usual...

Cheers all
