Default cheap knock sensor?

Hi all,

I have been thinking about this ****, er i mean knock link business.

It seems a lot of people have bought them, and a lot of other people think they are not worth the money.

Can we not use the existing knock sensor that is in place?

As most of our cars are designed to run on 100RON, and the ECU can only retard the timing so much, we are all liable to detonation.. or this is the way i understand it... am i right? So it seems that a knock sensor with a audiable / visible alert would be good... I don’t need a big KNOCK LINK thing on the dash, or any flashy lights.. just one LED that flashes when it senses knock.

Can we just wire up an LED to the existing sensor?
