Default gearbox oil

Hi,

Just checked my gearbox oil {the dipstick that is hidden behind the intercooler}, do need to check again on a better surface, however it is pink? I have never seen a oil that comes out pink before any ideas what type/make it is?

Paul.

Gear fluids are usually the "neutral" oil colour, (and should show no real signs of discolouration) except of course, automatic transmission fluid which is dyed red! Hmmm! Without really knowing what is actually in there, I would do an oil change as a matter of course.

Just looked through the service paperwork from April {before I bought the car} would Redline gear oil be pink? I can see it has had H.S.Proof {quart} & 75/90 gear {quart}

I think it explains it from what I have searched on the net

Could well be! Having never used Redline myself, I'm unaware of it's colour. Plenty of people on here have used it, so there must be someone who can confirm?

bright red or light pink ?
Redline Shockproof Heavy is what I'd describe as red. Shockproof lightweight is blue etc.
