I've got a my94 UK 2000 awd impreza and just this weeknd fitted a Z4 ecu and td-05 turbo. Cars still running fine but the Check engine light came on today and its throwing up code 22, Knock sensor.

What does this actually mean? What does it do? where is it? and what will i need to do now to sort the problem? Is the car still ok to drive?

so many questions, so little time.

possibly need to run higher octane fuel, or octane booster as well if you are running on v power......don't thrash it until you get it figured out

 

its always been run on super since ive had it, i'll try it on octane booster aswell.

 

if the code comes back you will probably need a new sensor, bought mine from grahame goode racing

 

i had a z4 ecu in my 1994 uk for 12 months no problems and run on v power or tesco's 99 no booster and no knock issues.
fitted a z4 and a tdo5, yours should of had the td05 already as standard unless it had been changed as some point.

 

right its on octane booster and ive reset for good measure, just have to wait and see if it comes back.


Old turbo was a vf12 from standard, we've already had this dilema, Some really old scoobys had these

 

you should run on v power or tesco 99, both 99 ron
super unleaded 97 ron
