Default PPP or not???

I'm thinking of coming back into the Scoob fold with a 2004 or 2005 Sti.

My question is, should I go for one with PPP, or get one without for a little less money and then spend the money on alternative tuning??

305bhp with the PPP I believe, but isn't it pretty "easy" (loosely) to get 330bhp or so??

I don't know a lot about the newer Scoobs, so all advice appreciated.

I really fancy a Crystal Grey one.....they do look very nice!!!

2005 spec will have A-DCCD and yaw sensor which is a big step forward for grip and sorting out the car if you can't drive without a computer doing it for you like me

suspension mods are a good improvement over the 2004 aswell.

exhaust/filter/fuel pump mods with remap will get around 320bhp with similar torque (which is probably at least 25bhp over what most PPP's get)

Aye.......I've been doing a bit of reading up on the models and it would seem that the 2005 is quite an improvement over the previous models.

Whether a driver of my ability would really notice the difference is questionable, but the chassis changes are supposed to make the car better.

I guess I may go for a 2005 car and then wait a bit and save for some mods.

My last Scoob was a classic (1998) wagon with around 270 bhp.............do you think the new car will be as quick (standard)??

Based on weight figures, using Car Stats - Calculator

you will need 322bhp to match a 270bhp classic - power to weight!!

I know its not accurate, but gives you an idea?

Apparently UK turbos are 1235kgs, and STi Type Uks are 1470kgs.

i went from a 99 uk classic with 270/270 (or something close, memory fails me!!) and at first my sti felt slower. mainly this was down to the lack of low down torque on the sti compared to what the remap on the classic gave me, but after a while you get used to the ratios of the six speed and keep it on the boil and it's great yes you spend most of your life changing gear, but i find it really helps to keep it in the power band.

it's a totally different power delivery, the classic is WHAM!! shove up the ****, whereas the newage feels more like it pulls you along. i think it's this punchy delivery that makes the classic feel more brutal.

oh, and it would kill my old classic round the corners, it's soooooo much better
