Default Which Lambda sensor?

Due to a MOT failure on emmisions I am looking to replace my Lambda sensor on my 1995 WRX import. I am not sure which one to go for as I have heard that if it has a red wire I will need to replace it with the titania senor. Is this correct or can I just replace with a universal zircona which are easier to get hold of and cheaper?
