they are worth £500 all day long. You may get them for less, but count yourself lucky if you do.

Worth whatever someone is willing to pay for them, someone was asking £900 for a pair of sti3 heads on here in november/december. They eventually sold them to a chap on the continent for less than half of the asking price 4 months later, with the added hassle of sending them to europe. The problem is although supply of these is relatively short, demand for them over £500 is also pretty thin on the ground, not so say you won't find someone willing to pay £500, but you'd have to wait your time out for the right buyer.

I don't know what standard WRX heads are worth etc. But it sounds like these are worth more for a particular reason. What is it?

Cam profile and under bucket shims, which basically means higher flow and rpm limit than the WRX version.

They command a price because the STIv3 (and then STIv4) are the best heads for larger power gains - for those whose shortblocks are going into phase 1 or 1.5 cars.

Dont get me wrong, I'm sure there are lots of people who want them, but demand is not just how many people want them but also how much they are willing to pay. Everyone wants a ferrari but few will pay 100k for one.
I'm in the market for a set of these, but am determined not to pay more than £400 for them. My new motor wont be ready to build for 2 months so I'm actively looking but also willing to wait.
