cars hesitating on boost
cars a my 94 uk with full decat, green panel filter and a polar performance chip 1.1 bar.problem is car is hesitating around 4500 to 5000 rpm then picking up again.
cleaned boost solenoid today (got a bit of oil out) as i thought that coul be the problem. while there i had a look at the plugs and coil packs.
2 coil packs have minor cracks in and 1 of the spark plugs had two cracks in.
question is what has caused this damage to one of the sparkplugs, and they are ngk 6b should i replace with different plugs now im running a higher boost

Sound like you need to change the coils and plugs if they are damaged. The ignition system on the Subaru Turbo is very sensitive and must have a spot on spark in order to run correctly.
I have a similar chip fitted in my 93WRX and was advised to use 7B's as they will run hotter than the 6B's.
Try wrapping the damaged coils with insulation tape before you go buying cus they aint cheap and you will need to replace all four. If the problem goes away then you can be sure you are buying the correct part. If not then try the plugs, however start saving for a set of coils!!
Before you go spending any though check the turbo hoses, Intercooler, etc for leaks at pressure. Check all vacuum hoses for blockages. The hose from the bottom of the Boost Control Solenoid should have a brass restrictor inside, check this to.

Cracked plug isn't good at all
A NEW set of coil packs are definately needed IMO if two are already cracked. As said, they aren't cheap though. IIRC I paid £240 for mine from AS Performance - Rally Motorsport Specialists

They run colder, not hotter.

i have a receipt for 2 coils fitted not long ago and 4 new plugs at the same time so should be fine replacing the 2 damaged coils only, when i took plugs out they all looked new apart from 1 which had 2 cracks in it.
cant understand how its cracked unless it was done during fitting.
ill try replacing the 2 damaged coils and 1 plug and see how it goes.
cheers for replys.
