Default samco hoses

Does the larger pipe in this pic replace the turbo to intercooler hose ?

rallynuts.com : Samco Intercooler Kit Subaru Impreza upto 9/96 (all models)

Cheers

Ok thats what i thought, so that leads onto my second question, doesn't the standard intercooler to turbo pipe consist of a single plastic unit which bolts onto the intercooler? so what is the samco pipe meant to connect to?

Cheers

to be honest, i'm not too familiar with the V1-2 IC's.

but on a MY99 - MY00 like I have, there are 2 alloy castings that sleeve into the samco (or standard y pipe as case may be) and are fixed with hose clamps. they then in turn bolt to the underside of the IC at the inlet points.

I'd be guessing...don't hold me to it though the V1-2 is of similar nature

I think the version 1/2 is a single pipe, like this (an STI version pic): http://us1.webpublications.com.au/st.../1618_11mg.jpg

I am sure the wrx is just the same but a plastic pipe ?

On the V1 Intercooler the large diameter short pipe connects between intercooler and throttle housing.
The other pipe replaces the hard plastic pipe that connects between the turbo and underside of the intercooler.
You have to cut the hard plastic pipe where it connect to the intercooler and jubilee clip the samco to it.
The small branch on this pipe is for the dump Valve.

So you DO have to cut it, Cheers.
