my mates got a little rascal/sooty van and it keeps cutting out??he said it can be ok for abit then it will cut out then be ok again,he said hes checked all the earths and that,and he cant find anything wrong.

any help appreciated

if it has points then check them and the gap as they tend to burn out , also check rotor arm and distributor cap even if it is electronic dizy , also check fuel pump connections and make sure you can hear it clicking when the ignition is on after it cuts out , the pumps tend to be loud ! im guessing its a fairly oldish rascal ?
