Default Is a Broken/Rotten Brake Disc Dust Gaurd-Cover an Mot Failure ??

Getting near Mot Time & have found a few Items.
Front Brake Disc dust cover / Gaurd is rotten & has the bottom chunk missing. Is this an Mot failure or even part of the Mot ??

If not i won't rush out & buy one as the Rear Shockers are Barsteward enough to fit

Thanks

Dean

It's not part of the MOT. Lots of cars don't even have them. The key thing to remember with MOTs is the golden rule - if it's there, it should be working. e.g. you'll fail on a bald spare tyre but pass if you have no spare at all.

I'd just remove the whole thing if I were you.

As Silent Running has said ... just whip them off ... and the job is done. Loads of people on here seem to run their cars without them even if they are in good nick.

Good luck with the MOT

I bet they won't, swiftly that is The poxy screws that hold them in place are amongst the first things to corrode

so long as they aren't touching the disc I'd leave them alone personally.

I agree there. the bolts always sheer off. I'll just make sure it looks respectable

no need to undo the bolts.. they come off with a little persuasion and the bolts still done up

If they are rust enough that is.
