HELP!Head gasket gone????
Hi guys I noticed yesterday that I had a coolant leak from the top radiator hose. As far as I could see it was just a slightly loose hose, so i tightened the jubilee clip and opened the header tank to top up the coolant. All I could see in the header tank was white foam/froth!I left off the header tank cover after i had refilled and started the engine. I then blipped the throttle a few times and with each blip water came surging into header tank form two off thehoses.
Im assuming that my headgasket has started leaking causing pressure in the cooling system and basically vapourising the coolant. I also checked the oil but there was no trace of water in the oil. Temp gauge is working fine and the temp stays in between hot and cold as always. Just wondering (hoping) if anyone has any ideas what else could be wrong if it wasn't the head gasket!?
Cheers, Blair

To confirm if it's head gasket have a coolant hydrocarbons test done. Checks if any exhaust gasses have leaked into coolant system. Takes about half hour and a local small garage should have the kit, no need for a subaru specialist. Drive it like a pensioner on sunday until you know what it is.

sorry to hear that mate. I had a leak in one of the back coolant hoses and was losing coolant. The foam/froth in the header tank was due to the coolant being roasted as it circulates the turbo to cool it, so turns out there was nothin to worry bout
