Default rubbing intercooler pipes

I've had my FMIC fitted for a while now. I had the pipes off recently and I noticed that the one which comes up the radiator on the right hand side had rubbed through.

What has people done to solve this problem? It looks like the metal surround on the radiator fan has cut it?

cheers

Grind the fan cowling back so that it clears.

Put a piece of silicone hose over the pipework to cushion it. I've had to where the pipework goes over the cambelt cover and oil filler pipe.

Cut back the offending pressed steel cowl and put some paint on the exposed edges.
To do this, unplug the fan connector block and remove the assembly. I think there are four 10mm set screws.
Alternatively, run with one fan and mount it centrally or reposition it on the driver's side.
NB. A/C cars should have two fans, one of which runs with the A/C switched on.
