Default 2003 Group N Prodrive short engine

Hi guys just been offered a low mileage 2003 Group N prodrive short engine.Does anybody know what JDM version the engine would be based on ? Am i right in thinking that it will be virtually the same as the JDM version of that year but just very well blueprinted and perfectly put together. Does it have any uprated parts in it at all or are they not allowed due to group N rules.

Cheers Liam

GrpN has to use standard parts. I believe they can use alternative engine bearings, but that's all.

To my knowledge, Prodrive don't offer a "short engine" re-build service, only full engine build to a Prodrive supplied GrpN car.

At best it will be a well built standard engine, at worst, it's a shagged 4 year old rally engine !
