Default Air Injectors?

I have seen these mentioned a couple of times now. I have no idea what they are and what they do. Now obviously they inject air but could someone describe to me in better detail than the title does??

You can use a single air injector on a std config setup, I do.

They are basically an accurate way off controlling boost. They can be programmed to bleed off air much like a soleniod on an apexi avcr by the ecu.

I think ive got that right anyway lol

Its a fuel injector modified to flow enough to use for boost control, its advantage is its faster acting than a solenoid and can be used at a much higher frequency.

cheers

I'm liking the idea of that for when I get the garrett . Will my old 440s do the trick? If not I have some 850's knocking about somewhere.

How easy is this converstion of the injectors?

You can't use "standard" fuel injectors.

Firstly they are designed to work with fluid going through them, and secondly, air injectors flow 2000cc +.

I'm sorry to say, if you want them, you'll just have to dust off your wallet, use the "safe" style lock, wait for the bats to clear the area, then keep your fingers crossed that the money inside is still legal tender, and if it is, spend a little of it

Ok, I knew nothing about these until last week. Bob above mentioned it was a FUEL injector thats been modified so naturally i asked the question if the ones i had already could be used.
Never mind the clever comments about me spending money. Part of me doing this is to see what can be done on a reasonable budget and be done by myself. I'm sure that you're very familiar to dealing with people that have plenty of cash but some of us don't. If it was as easy as that the car would have been dumped off at RCMS and picked up a few months later.

Its also nothing like as primitive as a safe style lock. There's a retina scan in there somewhere and thats just to get into the room where the dusty bat infested wallet is kept under SAS armed guard.

Daz,

I must be missing something here ?

I'm sorry, I didn't realise telling you why you can't use standard injectors would up set you so much !

My "wallet" comment was in jest, and this was the correct answer........

Mark,

Sorry if my post gave the impression you upset me, this after all is the internet and shouldn't be taken too seriously.
I was just making the point that not everyone can afford to be a cheque book tuner and any money saved on parts that i already have to do a particular job means i can spend it down the pub

No harm done

Daz,

Well best you try some LATERAL thinking, and sell the 440's, and 850's you have, which would go a long way towards other parts you need !

lol
cheers mate i might just do that.

Could you PM prices for the above? Actually while you're at it could you pm a price for a GT30R with 0.63 housing, 44mm wastegate, uppipe, downpipe oil and fuel lines and gaskets.

While you're doing that i'll enter said room and do a bit of dusting off.
