Where is it located ?
i want to earth it out to see if the needle can rise above half way,reason i say is because it never seems to go above half way,even when i did the water/antifreeze etc it never rose above this.
anyone elses only ever get to half way,even in traffic mid summer rad fans blowing loads etc

Water temp sensors are the ali water cross pipe under the inlet manifold, there are 2 sensors fitted horizontally in the pipe from the front, 1 for the ECU and one for the gauge in the instrument cluster.
The gauge in the cluster has a dead spot from about 70C to 100C where it sits in the middle of the gauge, this is common on many modern cars.

Yep, the one for the gauge is the single wire spade connector, the one for the ECU is the brown plug.
A bit like the oil pressure light, the temp gauge is more of a confirmation (rather than a warning) that the car is fooked
